Shawne Merriman’s having a hard time believing one of his former teammates played while drunk.The three-time Chargers Pro Bowler told The Post this week he was floored to learn Quentin Jammer had randomly admitted Monday that he logged snaps in the 2011 season “completely s–tfaced.”Merriman — who played with the Jammer in San Diego from 2005 to 2010 — said he was stunned by the revelation, as he had known the defensive back to be a model citizen who had “never been late to anything.”Additionally, Merriman said the Bolts’ 2002 first-round draft pick was arguably one of the three most gifted athletes he’s ever been on a team with, just behind Vernon Davis and Antonio Cromartie.“I will always remember him as just a great teammate, man,” Merriman said.“Never been late to anything.

Always worked his ass off.And definitely one of the most physical freaks I’ve ever played with.”Jammer’s alcohol admission seemingly came out of the blue, when he took to his X page to write, “True story…….

In 2011 I played completely s–t faced drunk in at least 8 games.”Jammer said in follow-up posts his divorce caused him to turn to alcohol, revealing he preferred two types of booze the most.He went on to say, “u all would’ve done the same,” before he added he’s now “almost” two years sober.While Merriman was in Buffalo during the 2011 season, he said the whole saga nonetheless came as a shock.“I couldn’t play well if I didn’t have enough sleep, let alone drunk,” Merriman said.Jammer started 15 games for San Diego in 2011 and failed to record an interception.

He left the Chargers following the 2012 season after an 11-year stint with the team....
