Patrick Reed leaving LIV Golf for PGA Tour return

Patrick Reed is coming back to the PGA Tour.The former Masters champ announced Wednesday on X that he would not return to LIV Golf and would seek to return to the PGA as a past champion member.“I’m a traditionalist at heart, and I was born to play on the PGA TOUR, which is where my story began with my wife, Justine,” Reed wrote.“I am very fortunate for the opportunities that have come my way and grateful for the life we have created.

I am moving forward in my career, and I look forward to competing on the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour.I can’t wait to get back out there and revisit some of the best places on earth.”Reed raised eyebrows on Sunday when he revealed he was not under contract to play for LIV Golf for the upcoming season.Reed now joins Brooks Koepka as the first two big-name golfers to make a PGA Tour return after leaving for LIV.Koekpa is playing in his first PGA Tour tournament starting Thursday when he tees it up in the Farmers Insurance Open.Reed, who won the Dubai Desert Classic last week, said he will continue to play on the DP World Tour.“To golf fans around the world, I just want to thank you all for your continued support over the years,” Reed, 35, said.
