Flames tear through NYC apt., leaving 3 injured, including two Bravest

Fire raged through a NYCHA apartment in Manhattan on Sunday morning, leaving two firefighters hurt and a civilian severely injured, authorities said. Bravest and EMS responded to a 911 call at around 11:11 a.m.for a blaze on the eighth floor of a building at Stanley M.

Isaacs Houses in Yorkville, authorities said. Pictures of the fire show clouds of black smoke billowing out of a window.About 120 firefighters and EMS workers swarmed the scene, where it took smoke-eaters a half-hour to extinguish the blaze, authorities said.  Two of the firefighters suffered minor injuries, while the civilian was more seriously hurt, according to the FDNY. The cause of the fire is still under investigation....
