Exclusive | Rodent infestation shuts down Angel Stadium section: discovery of rodent droppings

The Los Angeles Angels’ record isn’t the only thing off to a disgusting start this season, as health officials claimed they found evidence of a rodent infestation in a section of the team’s stadium.An Orange County Public Health Services Retail Food Facility Inspection Report, obtained by the California Post on Monday, shows that on April 22, a concession area at View Level 432 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim was closed following the discovery of “rodent droppings.”The routine inspection revealed vermin excrement in five different locations — including adjacent to janitorial supplies, on the floor underneath storage racks, next to “boxes of single use articles,” next to the water heater and near the janitorial sink, the report states.Additionally, inspectors allegedly found “a hole greater than 1/4 inch on the ceiling” that vermin could access.Officials suspended the facility’s permit to operate and ordered it to, among other things, “eliminate all rodent activity using approved pest control methods,” “clean and sanitize all equipment surfaces, food containers, shelves and floors” and “properly eliminate/seal all cracks and crevices greater than 1/4 inch to prevent vermin harborage.”The closure will last “until all conditions warranting the closure are corrected,” the report noted.The Angels said in a statement to The Post on Monday they “take great pride in delivering a high-quality fan experience at Angel Stadium, including maintaining the cleanliness of our nearly 160 concession locations” and “after receiving guidance from the health department, we acted promptly with our concession partner to resolve the issue at the single stand and expect it to pass inspection and reopen in time for the upcoming homestand.”The section had previously passed inspection as recently as June 25, 2025, records show.During that inspection, officials alleged they only found minor issues with the facility, including “grime accumulation” a...
