Exclusive | Lawrence Taylor reveals medical condition as Giants icon remains hospitalized

Lawrence Taylor is in the hospital dealing with “a stomach-related issue,” and while the matter does not appear to be life-threatening, it’s unclear when he’ll be released, his attorney told The California Post on Monday.Mark Eiglarsh, a Ft.Lauderdale, Fla.-based lawyer, said in a statement that his client entered a medical facility on April 20 and has been receiving treatment from doctors since.“He remains under medical observation,” Eiglarsh said of Taylor, “and is showing signs of improvement.”However, Eiglarsh added the NFL legend’s “discharge date has not yet been determined.”“Lawrence asks that I convey his sincere gratitude to everyone who has been thinking of him and keeping him in their prayers during this challenging time,” Eiglarsh said.Taylor was taken to a New Jersey-area hospital last week after suffering a medical emergency, TMZ Sports reported.The iconic New York Giants pass rusher, who’s dealt with a number of health-related issues following his football career, was seen on April 12 appearing to be in good spirits while visiting Bill Belichick at the University of North Carolina.Taylor sported a large smile on his face as he posed with his former coach and a youth football player for a picture.Prior to that, Taylor was also spotted participating in the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational in March.Taylor, 67, played for the Giants from 1981 to 1993 and won two Super Bowls.
