NYC deli worker stabbed while trying to stop trio from stealing 2 cases of Modelo beer

A Queens deli worker was stabbed repeatedly when he tried to stop a trio from stealing two cases of Modelo beer last week, cops and sources said. The worker, 42, noticed the three alleged booze thieves fleeing from El Patroncito Deli Grocery on 108th Street near 41st Street in Corona around 2:20 a.m.June 21 and chased after them, according to police and law enforcement sources. But instead of giving up, the thieves knifed the worker multiple times in the back and took off with the popular Mexican beer brand, police said. The employee went to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said. The NYPD released photos of the still-at-large perps decked out in Jordan, GAP and Adidas attire. One is shown with his hood pulled up and the other is wearing sunglasses during the pre-dawn mayhem. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, on X @NYPDTips. ...
