Marshawn Lynch does ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to support Chris Johnson

Marshawn Lynch participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge as a show of support for former NFL running back Chris Johnson, who recently revealed his battle with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease).Lynch did the challenge outside Allegiant Stadium in a video posted to his Instagram.“I stand with you.I’m here for you,” Lynch told Johnson.Johnson publicly called for the return of the Ice Bucket Challenge, which gained popularity in the summer of 2014 as a way to raise awareness on ALS, in his own post on Instagram.“The support you’ve shown me over the last few days has meant more than I can put into words,” Johnson said in his social media post.

“Seeing this video reminded me of something powerful.Years ago, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge united millions of people around one cause and helped change the fighting against this disease.

Today, I’m asking you to help me do it again.”Johnson challenged Lynch, former NFL running back LenDale White and former NFL cornerback Adam Jones to participate.White and Jones were Johnson’s teammates with the Titans from 2008-13.Johnson was diagnosed with ALS last year but announced the news on “Good Morning America” earlier this week.

The former first-round draft pick rushed for 9,561 yards during a prolific 10-year NFL career.Johnson was awarded Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 after a performance that saw him eclipse 2,000 rushing yards....
