Knockout at Maui beach caps turbulent stretch for Democratic candidate facing felony allegations

A Democratic congressional candidate knocked unconscious in a Maui beach fight now faces felony charges in three separate cases, including allegations he threatened a county employee with what appeared to be a gun and assaulted a hospital nurse.Kirill Basin, 40, was charged with two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening after the Aug.1 confrontation at Keawakapu Beach in South Kihei.Video captured an argument over music that escalated when Basin shoved Kama Homan and swung a beach chair at him.
