Tony Romo faces three new citations in twist to OWI arrest

Tony Romo is not out of the woods just yet over his arrest.Romo, the former Cowboys quarterback, was handed three new citations in Milwaukee on Thursday related to his July arrest on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, court records viewed by The Post show.The NFL analyst for CBS, who was placed on indefinite leave after the incident, was hit with first-offense operating while intoxicated, unsafe passing on the right side, and possessing open intoxicants inside his vehicle.This comes exactly one month after Romo was given a citation for his refusal to take an intoxication test after his arrest on July 23.He is due in court for his four citations on Sept.21.Romo was arrested after performing poorly on a field sobriety test once deputies pulled him over, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.The 46-year-old told authorities he did not have anything to drink and was on his way to visit “Grandma and Grandpa” after playing in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship golf tournament.One officer, however, said Romo — who appeared disheveled on police bodycam footage — had an “open bottle of an alcoholic beverage” located on the passenger side of his black Jeep.Following the arrest, CBS placed Romo on leave “until further notice,” according to a statement from the network on July 31.Earlier this month, CBS Sports president David Berson further clarified that Romo would not be a part of coverage anytime soon.“It’s an evolving situation and therefore we are still assessing,” Berson said on Aug.
