Smiling nut whacks straphanger with gardening tool on NYC subway

Police are searching for a grinning nut who swung a gardening tool at a straphanger during rush hour aboard a lower Manhattan subway train.The unidentified brute whacked a 49-year-old man with the large gardening tool, striking him in the hand and legs, while aboard a northbound “A/C” train near Fulton Street and Nassau Street around 7:30 p.m.on Aug.
9, according to the NYPD.The straphanger suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.Images released by the department captured the green-thumbed attacker who later fled the scene smiling aboard the train while holding a large tool with a wooden handle.
The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion, approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, an athletic build, short black hair, and brown eyes, cops said.He was last seen wearing a black tank top, black pants, a blue baseball cap, and a silver necklace.
