Video shows Colts Keenan Allen being released from jail after drunk driving arrest
Keenan Allen was probably hoping for a different type of Sunday when he joined the Colts.The long-time standout receiver was booked and released from Marion County Jail, according to police records, following an OWI arrest on Sunday morning less than 24 hours after making his preseason debut.Allen was seen leaving the county jail on Sunday afternoon in a video from Fox 59 in Indianapolis.According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers encountered Allen shortly after 1 a.m.in downtown Indianapolis when they saw a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone.“We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night,” the Colts said in a statement.
“We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.”Police said officers noticed signs of intoxication while speaking with Allen and subsequently placed him under arrest.The 34-year-old faces preliminary misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing endangerment.His first scheduled court date is Sept.16.The timing comes less than two weeks after Indianapolis signed Allen and only hours after he made his first appearance for the franchise.Allen signed a one-year contract with the Colts on Aug.
