RFS DU SOL Becomes First Electronic Act to Cross $100 Million on Tour

The numbers behind RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s ‘Inhale / Exhale World Tour’ have no precedent in EDM.The chart-topping group has achieved the highest-grossing ticket sales ever recorded for an electronic music tour, Billboard reports, reaching $158 million and 1.7 million fans across four continents.

The tour takes its name from the band’s fifth album, which nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album.Fans who first caught RÜFÜS DU SOL at a 350-person club in Toronto in 2014 might have had trouble recognizing the scene at Rogers Centre on September 5.

Comprising Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt, the barnstorming Australian band wrapped its world tour there in front of a sold-out stadium, tying a bow on an 18-month run that’s now etched in EDM’s history books.RÜFÜS DU SOL ultimately played 54 dates in the United States and Canada, 21 in Europe, 13 in Oceania and 10 in Latin America.

The concluding North American leg proved to be its most lucrative stretch, grossing $71.8 million and selling 693,000 tickets over 31 dates.The final show in Toronto raked in nearly $5 million and culminated in the rapturous concert at Rogers Centre, where 43,500 people danced the night away.
