Bizarre moment accused ATM thief throws thousands of dollars in cash from car during police chase

A suspect accused of stealing money from an ATM was caught on video tossing thousands of dollars out of a SUV window during a police chase in Texas, according to newly released police footage.The chase happened around 6 p.m.on Sept.

16 in Pearland, Texas.According to the Pearland Police Department, officers responded to a bank after receiving reports that a masked man “was making multiple transactions using several different cards.” Two men then got into another car and drove to a parking lot close by.Once officers tracked them down, the passenger got out of the vehicle while the driver sped away, leading to a police chase.Police footage captured the driver throwing handfuls of cash out of the window of the moving SUV during the pursuit.

More than $6,000 was later collected by police.Officers eventually caught up with the vehicle and arrested the driver.The driver, Levon Steven Jr., of Florida, was charged with evading arrest and tampering with evidence.

The passenger, Tarvares Givens, also of Florida, was charged with failure to identify.Police said the investigation remains ongoing and additional fraud-related charges could be filed.Both men are in custody at the Brazoria County Jail....
