Steph Currys Warriors contract extension falls short of potential supermax deal

The Warriors and Steph Curry have finally agreed to a contract extension.According to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, Curry has agreed to a two-year, $116 million extension that includes a player option in 2028-2029.Curry’s extension falls $20 million shy of a $136.7 million max contract extension he was eligible to sign.Throughout the offseason, there was speculation the 2026-2027 season could be his final season with the team as he was entering the final year on his four-year, $215.3 million extension that started in 2022.Curry has been an iconic piece of the Warriors’ organization for the last 17 seasons.He has led the team to four NBA titles and is a two-time NBA MVP.This story will be updated....
