Steph Curry reps Valkyries star Veronica Burtons jersey as Golden State begins WNBA Finals

Ballhalla is booming with excitement for WNBA Finals Game 1 between the Valkyries and Dream.Chase Center, home of the Valkyries, is hosting the opening game of the championship series between Golden State and Atlanta.

And the Warriors have gone all in toward supporting their fellow Golden State squad.Ahead of Thursday night’s preseason game, Steph Curry wore a Veronica Burton jersey during warmups.The entire team sported different Valkyries jerseys to honor the WNBA team ahead of Game 1.Curry also took to social media to shoutout the Valkyries, who share the same owner as the Warriors in Joe Lacob.

“Finals time.Go take care of business @valkyries ! ,” Curry wrote in a post on X.The Warriors’ support for the Valkyries didn’t end there as coach Steve Kerr and fan favorite Draymond Green were in attendance for Game 1 of the WNBA Finals.The Valkyries have become one of the most recognizable franchises in professional women’s sports.

Golden State reached the playoffs in its inaugural season in 2025, selling out all home games at Chase Center.In 2026, the Valkyries knocked out the defending WNBA champions, the Aces, in the semifinals to advance to the biggest stage in women’s basketball.

It’s only the franchise’s second season of existence, but the Valkyries have become a blueprint for women’s sports teams.Golden State can further its legacy with a win in Game 1 over Atlanta on Saturday....
