NFL insider has major concerns over Caleb Williams after book bombshell

Ross Tucker isn’t so sure about Caleb Williams. The former NFL offensive lineman turned CBS Sports analyst ripped the Bears quarterback during an appearance on the “Mully and Haugh Show” on Friday.“I have major concerns about Caleb Williams,” Tucker said.“… It feels to me, like more often than not, he does the wrong thing.

This isn’t a talent thing … I feel like he either gets really bad advice or his awareness rating on Madden needs to go down like 30 points.”Tucker did not have an issue with Williams’ father, Carl, not wanting his son to be drafted by Chicago, where “quarterbacks go to die”, but was incredulous over the decision to make the information public to author Seth Wickersham.“Why would you be talking about this with a writer?” Tucker wondered during the radio hit. Carl Williams “went to great lengths to try to circumvent” the 2024 NFL draft, Wickersham wrote in his new book, “American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback.”“I don’t want my son playing for the Bears,” Williams told several agents in 2024, the book states.In the end, the USC product was taken No.1 overall by Chicago in the 2024 NFL Draft.Even so, Tucker isn’t convinced Williams will be in Chicago for the long haul. “Like, if I had to bet, OK, is Caleb Williams going to be the Bears’ starting quarterback in three years? I probably would bet ‘No,’ if I had to bet yes or no right now just based on what we’ve seen so far,” Tucker said.During his rookie year, Williams showed flashes of the star quarterback he was touted as, completing  62.5 percent of his passes with 20 touchdown passes and six interceptions, although he was sacked a league-high 68 times while the Bears finished 5-12....
