Wild video shows how pistol-packing store owner sent crew of masked robbers fleeing

Wild security footage captures a jewelry-store owner shooting at a crew of masked robbers and chasing them out of his shop and into the streets of Madera, Calif.— but not before they made off with $170,000 in gems.Five seasoned criminals wearing black masks and gloves stormed into Olivia’s Fine Jewelry around 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, smashing its cases’ glass to swipe the jewels in a “meticulous” plot, authorities said.Video shows a store clerk pushing one of the thieves back over a counter, causing his pants to fall down.Moments later, the store owner appears with a gun, firing shots at the masked gang, which then flees, cops said.Security footage from outside the store shows the owner rushing outside after them and continuing to fire into the street.It’s unclear if any of the criminals were struck.The thieves fled with their bounty in a dark sedan, according to the City of Madera Police Department.“It’s shocking to the conscience,” police Sgt.
Blake Short told ABC 7.“It’s scary to the [shop-owning] family because it is a mom-and-pop store, with family being your own employees, it’s your own business and your livelihood.”“This was definitely meticulous,” Short added of the heist.“It was thought-out.
